Self-contained cartridges with an all-in-one liquid path
The components combine in our patented aerofoil microfluidic mixer, exiting as uniform nanoparticles, all within a single sealed cartridge. No priming, no waste channel.
Patented aerofoil micromixers
The component liquids, e.g., lipids and mRNA, combine, then split and recombine around a chain of aerofoil-shaped islands before leaving as mRNA-LNPs. Our unique mixer design is what allows us to scale upwards from ultra-low sample volumes.
How the cartridge works
Pneumatic liquid drive, active level monitoring and an embedded flow path work together to maintain accurate flow rates during the mixing process.
- 1
Pneumatic drive
Air pressure pushes the RNA and lipid through the mixer, creating a practically instantaneous pressure drive with no pumps, syringes or tubing in the liquid path.
- 2
Optical level monitoring
Active liquid level monitoring enables dynamic feedback control, maintaining accurate and constant flow rates of both phases during the run.
- 3
Embedded flow path
The liquid path is moulded into the cartridge base. The path is short and enclosed, so dead volume is negligible.
- Less RNA or other payload
- Less lipid or other encapsulating material
- No waste – all of the material that goes in is formulated
- Faster screening and optimisation
- One consistent path from screening to scale-up
- Automate your workflow with liquid handling and robotic control
What sets our approach apart
One mixer, any scale
A unique aerofoil micromixer that scales from low to high volumes.
Eight independent channels
Use some or all of them in the same run.
Negligible dead volume
No priming and no wasted output.
From 80 µL
High-quality particles from 80 µL of formulated LNP payload.
How MiNano Form earns its place in your lab
Lipid library screening
Run designed experiments at your pace, with consistent performance across all samples. On-demand scaling from 1 to 100+ samples per hour turns a week's work into a few hours. Pair it with a liquid-handling robot to automate the whole screen, from filling the cartridges to collecting LNPs for analysis.
Payload optimisation
Optimise N/P ratio, lipid composition or buffer conditions on the actual payload, with microlitre consumption and almost no waste. Save on precious payload and expensive lipids.
Process scale-up
Use the same mixing geometry from early screening through to small-batch manufacture for in vivo or preclinical studies. One cartridge and one mixer type give consistent scale from 80 µL to 10+ mL.
Academic and translational labs
A capital-light way to bring LNP formulation in-house without dedicated cleanroom space or a continuous-flow system. Designed for shared facilities and rotating users.
